A1 Hrvatska Wins European Broadband Award for Transforming Rural Connectivity in Croatia using GDi Ensemble OSS
The European Commission in Brussels has honored A1 Hrvatska with the prestigious European Broadband Award for their groundbreaking project, co-financed by European funds, to build a next-generation fixed broadband access network in Solin. This initiative has brought gigabit-speed internet to rural areas, revolutionizing connectivity and enhancing community life.
A1 Hrvatska leveraged the advanced capabilities of GDi Ensemble OSS to design and implement the network infrastructure. Impressively, the project was completed five months ahead of schedule, showcasing exceptional efficiency and innovation.

Transformational Impact: 3,000 Households Connected
With a total investment exceeding €2.1 million, the project has delivered state-of-the-art fixed internet access to nearly 3,000 households in previously underserved areas. It was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014–2020, under the initiative “Building Next Generation Networks (NGN)/Next Generation Access Networks (NGA) in NGA White Areas.”
